Interviewing A Listing Agent | The 4 P’s

Jun. 12. 2020

As a seller, nothing is more important than finding the right REALTOR® to list, market, and ultimately sell your property. After all, you want nothing but the best! But how do you find the right listing agent? First, do some online research to find some potential “great fits” and, while you’re at it, tackle the first “P” – Presence (information just below). Now, don’t just go with the first agent you find. Pick a few and then schedule some interviews! What questions should you ask? While you can find some great resources if you search the Internet, I recommend hitting these 4 P’s:

#1: Presence
Look up their online presence. Do they have a website? Is it up-to-date? Are they active on social media? These are important questions as they are tools a successful Realtor will use to market your property! The more active they are, the more your property will be seen.

#2: Plan
What is their plan to market your property? It’s good to get an idea of what they have in store.

A fantastic question to ask a listing agent is, “If there was no MLS, how would you sell my house.” MLS is a REALTORS® greatest tool. So, seeing how they would go about selling your home without it would tell you a lot about their creativity! Did they take videos? Will there be a virtual tour? An open house? How many days with no offers until we reduce the price? A plan helps keep a seller on track to hit their goal.

#3: Process
What is their process? Do they have systems in place? Checklists? Is there a blueprint or recipe they use to get a home sold?

#4: Past Experience
You want the best for your home, especially in a competitive market. Look for someone with great reviews and a good track record for selling homes quickly and for top-dollar value.

P.S. The Austin-area has very low inventory right now. So, if you are looking to sell, give me a call!

Here’s a video recap of basically what I told you above.
